Raspberry Pi for kits

I assume that RaspTank WiFi Wireless Smart Robot Car Kit and DarkPaw Bionic Quadruped Spider Robot Kit dont come with a raspberry pi
Do we need a raspberry pi or can we just connect it to a computer and upload the code from there?

While you may develop and test code on your computer, you will eventually need to upload it to the Raspberry Pi in order to control the robot papa's pizzeria, as both kits are meant to be programmed and operated with it.
